Description

HOMY03 Smoked Oak Engineered Real Timber Flooring

HOMY03 is a smoked oak engineered real timber flooring designed to deliver depth, warmth, and a contemporary architectural presence. The smoked colour treatment introduces a refined, modern tone that performs particularly well in spacious interiors, where light and shadow interact across the surface of the wood.

Finished with a wax-oiled surface, the floor highlights the natural grain and tonal variation of oak, creating a layered and authentic appearance rather than a uniform, artificial look.

Surface Finish and Natural Ageing

One of the key qualities of an oiled oak floor is its evolving appearance over time. A wax-oiled finish allows the timber to age naturally, developing character through subtle wear. Periodic re-oiling can refresh the surface while retaining small natural marks that contribute to the floor’s individuality.

The smoked oak tone enhances contrast within the grain, while the low-sheen oiled finish maintains a calm, refined surface suitable for modern residential and commercial interiors.

Interior Style and Color Tone

Modern smoked tones deliver a clean, high-impact aesthetic with strong visual clarity. This colour palette works well in open-plan layouts and interiors with extensive glazing, where darker timber tones help anchor the space and balance contemporary design elements.

The surface treatment is controlled and consistent while still allowing the underlying timber structure to remain visible, preserving a genuine real wood character.

Construction, Stability, and Installation

HOMY03 is an engineered real wood floorboard designed for improved dimensional stability. The engineered construction helps the flooring respond more effectively to normal indoor temperature and humidity changes, reducing the likelihood of excessive movement over time.

For optimal long-term performance, installation using a full glue-down method is recommended. Full adhesion fixes the floorboards directly to the subfloor with a suitable flooring adhesive, helping to minimise expansion, contraction, and the potential for movement or noise. Due to the nature of oiled finishes, professional installation is recommended.

Tongue & Groove Profile

Tongue & Groove refers to a traditional board profile where each floorboard has a tongue on one side and a corresponding groove on the other. When installed, the tongue fits securely into the groove of the adjacent board, helping control vertical alignment and supporting a stable, well-finished floor surface.

Long-Term Use and Maintenance

With correct installation and appropriate maintenance, engineered smoked oak flooring can be refreshed through re-oiling and, where applicable, sanding. This supports long-term durability and helps preserve the intended appearance over the life of the floor.
